AutoWallpaper doesn't start properly anymore, or, crashes whilst loading
This can occur on rare occasions when the AutoWallpaper preferences have become corrupt. To correct the problem you will need to reconfigure AutoWallpaper:
Firstly, locate the AutoWallpaper data folder - this folder is usually hidden so you may need to show hidden files and folders first:
Windows XP : C:\Documents and Settings\YourUsername\Application Data
Windows Vista : C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming
In this folder you will find and AutoWallpaper folder. Rename the folder to 'AutoWallpaper_old'. Then reinstall AutoWallpaper over the top of your current installation. You should now be able to run AutoWallpaper as normal. You will need to setup your categories and effects profiles again, or, you can try and copy back the categories and effects folders, and the settings.cfg from the AutoWallpaper_old folder.
After updating from AutoWallpaper 2 to AutoWallpaper 3 things aren't working properly?
There were a great deal of changes from the last release of version 2 and the current release of version 3, and as such upgrading from version 2 is problematic. Before installing version 3 you should uninstall version 2, and then manually delete the application folder (c:\program files\autowallpaper), then search your C drive for AutoWallpaper, this should locate the Application Data folder, delete this.
If the search doesn't locate the folder then it is hidden (use the path below to access the folder):
Windows XP : C:\Documents and Settings\YourUsername\Application Data
Windows Vista : C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming
You will then be able to find and delete the folder.
Afterwards you can safely install version 3 and enjoy all the latest features and benefits (this will also work if you have already installed version 3). If you need any additional help please contact me.
