I developed Notes Manager because after using Evernote (free account) for a while I felt that I really wanted to be able to keep my notes where I could always get at them, on my PC, but still have the option to sync them to other PCs via a cloud server (Dropbox, SugarSync, etc).

So, if you’re looking for a new Notes and Lists application then give Notes Manager a try.

In the meantime this new beta 4 is a great improvement over the previous versions, so please give it a try and let me know if you find any further issues.

So, what is Notes Manager? Well it’s a new notes and list keeping application I developed specifically to play nicely with cloud storage. You can create you notes and lists and have the entire notebook saved locally where you can always get to it. The reason I developed the application rather than using something like Evernote is because I really wanted to be able to keep my files where I wanted rather than storing them in the cloud on an unknown server. Also, as good as Evernote is, for free users it is restricted.

Feature Highlights:

• Create a hierarchy of notes anyway you want to – you aren’t restricted to just one level deep, you can create folders in folders as far as you need to.
• Create rich text notes, task lists and even custom lists of your own making.
• Store the notebook in the cloud or any where on your hard drive.
• Password protect and encrypt your notebooks.
• Create separate notebooks for different people, activities, businesses, or whatever you like.
• Import Evernote ENEX, HTML, files into your note books.

So if you are struggle to bring order to your notes and lists give Notes Manager a try.

• You can now schedule AutoWallpaper to update categories rather than just a single category update on start up. This option is ideal for those users that leave their computers on days at a time. A new option is on the preferences window where you can specify the number of hours between each category update

The update is purely optional as the only feature it adds is support for Windows 8, but hey, that’s big enough. So, if you’re currently on AW6.0 and don’t have or intend to upgrade to Windows 8 (and I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t) there’s no need to download the new version.

AutoWallpaper 6.5 is expected to be released on September 15th.

Initial testing for compatibility with Windows 8 shows that AutoWallpaper does NOT work correctly. It appears that Microsoft has made significant changes to the way wallpaper images are set and at present AutoWallpaper will not be able to change the wallpaper properly.
